第2回のPart3〜6を演習。

＊()内は前回間違えた箇所と重複している数。

この感じで、全部通してやったとすると、素点でリスニング88点、リーディング87点くらいだと思う。
巻末のスケールによると、９３５点（４８０／４５５）。
９００は安泰な気がするものの、９５０以上を狙うにはもう少し。
Part3の誤答数が今回は特に痛い。リズムを崩さずに進めれば、ここでの誤答は３題以内には収められそうなものだが。

• 前の問題３：設問と選択肢に目を通す
• 会話文：設問３つのうち２つ以上を解く
• 問題１：２題マーク、３題目の答えを決める
• 問題２：３題目をマーク、一呼吸
• 問題３：次の設問と選択肢に一通り目を通す

というリズムだと取りこぼしは少ない。

要求、命令、提案などを表す動詞（require, demand, order, insist, suggestなど）の目的語となるthat節内では、仮定法現在が適用され、動詞は原型になる。

はじめて聞いた気分。結構よくある構文な気がするが、受け身、ということが珍しいのだろうか。かなり難問の部類だと思うが、ひっかからなければラッキー。

108. Eaton Corp. warned it would --- its first-ever quarterly loss after closing restaurants amid intense competition and deteriorating sales.

A) post
B) cast
C) invest
D) host

postとlossが結びつくというコロケーションを覚えておく必要がある。

111. The museum will be showing a slide show on 17th century European history for visitors --- Rembrandt exhibit.

A) staring
B) looking
C) viewing
D) gazing

自動詞と他動詞の区別。
題意自体は選択肢を見れば明らかだが、いざとなるとまだ迷う感じがある。あとで考えればview atとは言わないから、これは他動詞だとわかる。
類題は結構出題されてそう。

A) departed
B) deserted
C) descended
D) destined

この文脈に入れたときにdestineという単語の意味がぱっと浮かばなかったことが原因。
departed forはおかしいとは思いつつも・・。

A) has resumed
B) are resumed
C) have resumed
D) to resume

主語の構造をきちんと把握する力が必要。この場合はWorkなので、単数。

136. The group spent a lot of time on the presentation, believing their hard work would be ---.

A) rewarded
B) redeemed
C) restored
D) refined

redeemの意味は「買い戻す、取り戻す」。
やはり、TOEICの場合、知らない単語を選ぶよりも、知っている単語から当てはまりそうなものをいれていく方が賢明なようだ。
今回も、rewardedでおかしいと感じたわけではなかったので。

139. Use of the hotel swimming pool and sauna --- to registered guests.

A) restricted
B) is restricted
C) has restricted
D) are restricted

2個上の問題と同じく主語の取り方が論点。
"Use of the hotel swimming pool and sauna"は単数。

主語の一致で２つ落とすのはもったいなさすぎるので、これは注意。
（この2問に関しては前回も間違っているので、この機会に覚えなおすべき。）
問題を解く段階で、このくらいあからさまなら主語の一致が論点になっていることはわかるはずなので気をつけたい。
